A comprehensive archives is essential to the success of the Orange County Great Park History Program. Successful historical archives have been implemented at many other large urban parks including San Diego’s Balboa Park and Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York.

The Great Park Archives will contain institutional records, historic and contemporary photographs, oral histories, private papers, architectural drawings, clippings, reference files, digital images and videos. The archives will be used to educate and inform future generations about the history of El Toro MCAS and its transition to the Orange County Great Park.
