The Great Park Balloon is the first major attraction of the Orange County Great Park, a 1,347 acre public space on the site of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Orange County, California.
Passengers will soar between 250-400 feet above the surrounding landscape, enjoying a bird’s eye view of the retired air station’s transformation into the first great metropolitan park of the 21st Century.
Balloon Alert:
The Great Park Balloon and Visitors Center will be temporarily closed to the public during construction of the 27.5-acre Preview Park and in preparation for Great Park Summer 2008. The site will reopen on July 12th, celebrating the Preview Park's grand opening as well as the Great Park's 3rd Anniversary.

10:00am to 3:00pm, Thursdays & Fridays
9:00am to 3:00pm, Weekends (Get Directions).
(Flights are subject to winds and weather conditions.)
Tip: Wind conditions for flying are best between opening and 12:30pm.
For the convenience of guests, the parking lot opens 30 minutes before normal operating hours. Registration begins 15 minutes prior to the first flight. As weather permits, the last flight of the day is at 2:50pm.
